Senior Project Manager
With over 25 years of experience, Mr. Austin has a substantial background in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device manufacturing industries focused on team management, project management, risk management, cleaning validation, commissioning, and validation of equipment, utilities, facilities, and instruments. He has managed commissioning and validation scope for capital projects as large as $200M, including developing project plans and schedules (encompassing both budget and resource loading), creating project tracking and reporting tools, monitoring progress, reporting status updates, facilitating team meetings, defining priorities, and communicating hurdles. Mr Austin also has hands-on validation experience with process equipment (fermentors, tanks, chromatography systems, lyophilizers, fillers, autoclaves, washers, etc.), utilities (compressed air, clean steam, purified water, CIP, SIP, etc.), facilities (clean room environmental sampling per ISO guidance), and cleaning validation (carryover and residue limit calculations, rinse and swab sampling, etc.)
Mr. Austin has an Undergraduate Chemical Engineering and Masters in Enology Degrees from University of California Berkeley and a Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Maine.
